It's Been A Long Time

Wow, my last blog post was June 20, 2012. The past weeks have been really tough, I been through a lot. Firstly, my brother caught dengue and we all know dengue is something really serious. No one could attend to him except me. He's been in the hospital for five days, five nights and days. So guys I should tell you this, you better be careful since it's already the rainy season, do not underestimate a simple fever. Be observant, if your fever last for more than two days then rush to the hospital and have yourself checked for dengue, ask the doctor. Better be safe than sorry right? Dengue is fatal if left unattended immediately. Thankfully my brother was able to recover fast, thanks to my dad too cause he made the right choice of admitting him right away the moment he thought it's dengue.

Just when I thought hell week have passed, I was completely wrong. The following week, one of my pup Snowy was pooping blood. A LOT of blood! Without hesitation I rushed her to the vet. Earlier that day I have observed that she looked so frail and was not eating. I felt that there's something wrong right then, confirmed it the moment she pooped blood! God knows how worried I am. Shortly, Snowy was admitted to the animal clinic. Vet said she might have caught the notorious killer virus, PARVOVIRUS. That night I can't sleep and felt uneasy. I just love my pets too much. I was too worried, I felt uncomfortable, name it! This virus can kill a dog as fast as 24 hours. AND it is highly contagious. God! I have five dogs at home, two adults and three puppies. The vet said that I should DISINFECT the house, everything if possible. Double dose the multivitamins of the other dogs, let them drink a lot of water. I even bought Hydrites to keep them replenished. Parvo is a bitch, like dengue it doesnt show any serious symptoms. Until one day it will attack in an ugly way. Just like what it did to Snowy. Pooping blood without any warnings. Later that week my other pup Axl caught it! I also rushed him to the vet clinic, and my last pup Cha Cha caught it too, but sadly I was not able to rush her immediately cause it was too late in the evening when she started showing the signs. At 3am she started pooping a lot of blood, vet wont open by 8am, she had to wait... I cant bear seeing her, being so weak, so frail little by little. It's painful, this little girl, suffering, she can not even lift her head. She fought hard, I know. When we were on our way to the vet clinic, she was really really frail, she can not even blink her eye. Shortly she looked at me and I knew right then it was her last glance. She died, right in my lap, helplessly. She did not even make it to the vet. I cried, i cried a lot. My baby just died right in my lap. She was tough I know, she fought hard but I know I had to say goodbye too. When arrived in the vet clinic, I came in saw Doc Joy, told her that Cha Cha did not make it with my tears bursting in my eyes. She told me parvo works that way and I knew she was also sad hearing the news. I proceeded to the dog quarters, then saw my other two pups Snowy and Axl. Snowy's been remarkably happier the last time I saw her. While Axl is stable and continuously recovering.

Yesterday was the day Cha Cha died, we burried her immediately.
I will miss her, I will miss her forever, and promised that I would not give up on both Snowy and Axl.

Not giving up, that's what my baby taught me. Especially on things that you believe in.

Today, Snowy and Axl will be coming home and I can't be any excited. Hoping this would be the last of bad happenings.

My faith in God just grew larger, I just found myself praying a lot the past days. What ever your plan dear Lord, I trust in you.

Will update you again. Sorry for the long post!

XOXO
Abhie
